Wiring new cooker hood to a fused spur

Ideally a task I would do myself.
I need to wire in a new cooker hood into a fused spur in the nearby cupboard.
The hood is attached to a moulded plug.
After isolating yhe circuit Can I just cut the moulded plug off strip back the wires and connect it?
The current hood is wired in like in this picture. Just follow the same connections? Am i overthinking it??

Yup. Cut off the plug, strip back the outer insulation, then a little section of the inner. Use the old wiring as a guide.Make sure you have a 3A fuse (or 5A if the manufacturer recommends it) in the holder. As always with any electrical work, flick the big red switch in the consumer unit to OFF before doing any work. And if in doubt, call an electrician or competent handyman. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.3 -
Yep, as simple as that. If the new one has an earth wire there is a spare terminal on that spur unit.
