PDSA First appointment with main owner not present?

Hi,
Just after a little bit of advice. My fathers dog I think may need a medical check as having some issues with his paws
I care for my dad as he is in senior age and do all the dog walking etc as he has mobility issues now.
A few month ago I got him registered and set up for the PDSA as he receives Pension Credit etc and that was accepted, having to take photos and id of benefits etc. Up til then all the dog receives are the annual boosters etc which I sort for him
If memory serves me right however, I "think" there was something that the first appointment/s he has to visit with ID etc with being the owner to prove its who is type thing, but I'm not 100% certain. Are they very strict on this, as I can take him if I need to but he has issues with walking currently, plus a very imminent (days) bereavement of his current partner is going to occur over the next few days, so I'd rather avoid it if possible for him.
Thanks

It may well be easier to phone them up, explain the circumstances, and ask them what they need? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I was just trying to log in to the website as him and it was like "email not found" so was just panicking they'd lost the details - however I see that when attempt to book appointment it does a look up of the name and finds it that way, so they keep the registered pet and accounts themselves seperate

Our PDSA is exceedingly nice and easy to deal with. We have never qualified for free or discounted treatment but it's the emergency service in our area and are well used to people showing up in a panic (or not) without ID and dealing calmly with it all. And I'm very certain they (as most vets) are used to dealing with carers rather than actual pet owners from time to time. Worse case scenario they might want you to pay something which they can refund when you can get dad in there with you if necessary.
Hope the pup's paws are ok. Easy for them to get hurt out walking if there's some broken glass or even just a sharp stick hidden in the undergrowth.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards.
