You really do need to keep your existing savings for maintaining your new home and any care needs. That doesn't mean that you will need to go in a home; you may however need help with some tasks as you get older.
Giving away more could lead to suggestions of deprivations of assets, which means that you can't afford the help and the LA refuse to fund it.
And meantime, you might have been able to prevent the problem by making adjustments to your home, which you couldn't afford.
So get advice on the best 1,2and three year fixes, possibly ISAs.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1 -
