Vinted lost post compensation insufficient?

Options
I have just started using Vinted the first two transactions went fine. However, I have a problem with my third order I sold a new pair of shoes for £35 and it appears that item is now lost in the post. I sent the item through Inpost which was the only option available.

After speaking to Vinted it appears that the maximum compensation for lost items is £20 with the Inpost service. Surely, Vinted should have provided a courier that offers the full compensation?

Anyone else had similar problems?

I can't answer this with any certainty as there are people reporting different experience sin different forums. It does appear to be the case though that Vinted often give different answers to different people. As to whether they shouldn't have allowed an Inpost label- that argument is probably answered by the fact that sellers choose the services they allow, and Vinted then allow buyers to choose from those services. However whilst that is the case it is not necessary as simple as that as sellers can only turn couriers on or off in bulk - so whilst you might be happy with the majority of your items going inpost if they are less than £20 - you would have to turn off Inpost entirely to stop it being used for higher priced items. I know a lot of people suggest putting it in your description first 'only choose XX courier for this' and then use that disclaimer to cancel any sales where buyers ignore that instruction.

This however appears to be still 'live' in the FAqs

which suggests up to £500 and some people are saying they definitely have received the full amount back once the courier confirms loss.

I have rarely sold anything over £20 and am unlikely to in the future so it isn't something I have fully investigated.
