Debt Recovery Plus

I'm super confused - just received a debt recovery plus fine -- for parking which apparently commenced on 10th Feb -- however, i have never received the parking fine just this debt recovery letter -- I'm assuming that is because they have got my address as number 84a and i live at 8 - but the postman knocked (he's new) and asked if this was me as we only have 8 houses on the street..
it is apparently £170 - now i know this car park never used to have parking fees so this must be pretty new.. and it would of only been used to nip in the corner shop opposite so i assume not even 10 minutes whoever was driving was there..
but I've read that i should not even acknowledge it but other sites have told me under no circumstances should i ignore it?
Seems pretty unfair that i have to pay £170 for them getting my address wrong so if there was another letter before this I've never received it.

Ignore DRP. They cannot 'fine' you. They are just toothless debt crawlers. Please read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post, which tells you how to deal with debt collectors - in short, ignore them.DRP will be working on behalf of a private parking company (PPC), which one please?
Come back on this thread if you receive a Letter Of/Before Claim from solicitors representing the PPC, or a County Court Claim via the Northampton CNBC. Easily dealt with. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

YUP.DRP are those nasty little critters that live in the sewers
Just money bandits to IGNORE .... THEY ALSO TELL HUGE PORKIES
DRP ARE BPA members .....Both are just jokers2 -
The creditor is apparently 'Smart Parking Ltd' - so it is best to ignore for the time being? Honestly can't believe the cheek of it and to get my address wrong surely that's not accredited in court I could of NEVER received these anyways if the postman hadn't knocked?0

Fingers crossed it goes away on its own then. They've said if I ignore they will take me to court and they assume my lack of responding is an 'oversight' when I just haven't received the letter in the first place.0

Did you stop reading 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' at the top of the forum (to be read by new posters before posting) and not get as far as the 4th post about Debt Recovery Plus? You won't be paying anything!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
