I posted twice yesterday and they didn't appear. I was posting on my phone so I'll try my laptop today.
 Happy retirement Chrisca.
Gers, I've read about people being taken ill at Adam Kay shows several times, either he is very unlucky or it is some sort of ploy.
I ended up back at the hospital yesterday, apparently there was a something suspicious on the CT image so I had to have a colonoscopy. It was the same Dr who did my gastroscopy so she has seen the whole length of my digestive system. I opted not to have sedation and some parts were very uncomfortable but I hate being sedated. Anyway, she was able to tell me that everything looked normal and I definitely don't have bowel cancer. Good news and I am trying not to worry about what they might have seen on the CT, she said they would review it again so hopefully I'll get the all clear soon. I felt absolutely exhausted yesterday afternoon, but I hadn't eaten for over 24 hours and had had to take the horrible preparation they use to clear you out so I was probably dehydrated as well. I still feel a bit tired but better than I was.
We have brought nearly all our possessions back from storage to go in the loft. We are getting rid of a lot of things - a fortune in dvds and cds and old maps and guide books but there is no sense in leaving them in the loft for another twenty years only to be a burden for Laura and Chris.
 Have a good day.14

I went to see Adam Kay recently when he did a literary festival in Margate, I found him very interesting, sad and funny. He did a lot for mental health in hospitals I think.Gers said:Morning folks from a very wet, windy and wild Glasgow. Irish storm Kathleen is making an entrance! Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. And a very happy retirement to @Chrisca, too many toxic people in positions of authority.Last nights show was very good. Adam Kaye said it wasn't a comedy event but there were certainly a lot of very funny stuff amongst the few sad and poignant parts. He's a very talented man. Unfortunately a woman took ill, a call 'is there a doctor in the house' brought out about 20 people! Getting the woman out of the row of seats was the main problem. After a wee break the show continued. I thoroughly enjoyed it.My family are having a terrific time at Surfer's Paradise. They fly home tomorrow so are making the most of it. The photos of the young chiidren looking down at a big city are so good, they live a deeply rural life normally. Wide roads, tall skyscrapers and heavy traffic are all alien to them. Now to face my journey home. I suspect it'll be fairly slow and steady, no overtaking wagons today. I had planned to do a bit of shopping but won't, I'd rather be home early.I hope that everyone is warm and dry. At least it's Friday.Carolbee12

            Morning all
Raining here but meant to be sunny this afternoon and tomorrow which will be nice, I have to take little dog for her teeth cleaning this afternoon and then the day is my own.
DD is off today so I’m hoping she will take the dogs out, yesterday I continued clearing out my wardrobes ( I started a while ago but never finished) so I am going through everything and being ruthless in getting rid of stuff that I am keeping for no reason ! I have ordered some shoe boxes which should arrive today so will continue the sorting later, the boxes have clear fronts so you can see what’s in them so should make life easier, I will take the old clothes to the clothes bank in the next village.
I sat down yesterday to do my tax return and had got my days mixed up so I was a bit early, I will do that today or tomorrow instead it shouldn’t take me long.
Dinner tonight will be chicken curry with rice and naan bread I think there may be some of OH Bombay potatoes in the freezer too.
 Chrisca Happy Retirement xxxx
Snoozer hope the tests come back clear xxx
Have good days all and take care xx13

Hello all, nothing much has been happening here and I'm still plodding along, hopefully getting stronger/ better but only time and my oncologist will tell that. I have my next appointment at the hospital in 2 weeks time.
Yesterday we went out to a local retail park to a bed store as we need a new mattress and I tried most of the beds in the shop. We finally decided on one which has been ordered, but when did they become so eye wateringly expensive. But as Granny would say "buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you're not in one you're in the other" 😂
We're waiting for a sm delivery this morning with 2 things OOS, we can do without them as I left Mr Fix It doing the ordering and seems he ordered 4 pies instead of 1 by mistake too 😏 Oh well they'll go in the freezer and will get eaten eventually. He's doing his best bless him and I haven't done anything more taxing than a bit of light dusting !
DD and DGD are coming this afternoon, I'm looking forward to seeing them and I will pass on another book that I've read to DD.
 Crisca happy retirement

I’m late today I’ve been to the food waste to do my volunteering walked the dog and then called and got a bit of shopping I’m ready for a sit down . Happy retirement Chrisca . We have a food street market on tonight There’s music and very expensive food if it stays dry I will have a wander to see what it’s all about but it looks like a lot of burgers on the posters but I suppose it’s something different and we complain when there’s nothing happening. Enjoy your holiday Scarlet Snoozer I will keep everything crossed for your scan. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13

AA sorry you were poorly on your holiday but glad you could still enjoy x
We had a quiet Easter but nice. Busy couple of days as DH has been busy turning one of our (new to us ) sheds
into a "wine cellar !!!!!! bar". Also had someone in moving a radiator and also fixing a part on our boiler that had gone wrong.
We both had eye tests last week and will collect new glasses next week. I have opted for one pair of sunglasses as the reactolight never seems
dark enough for me and there has been a change of prescription.
Hope everyone keeps safe with the incoming storm Kathleen and has a good weekend. Hugs to all who want them

            Hello everyone
I've just been having a good catch up. I've had little one today as DD was working - she arrived at 7.30 and woke me up. We went down to mam and dads this morning - it was my mams' birthday and my sister-in-laws. Little one got to play outside with her cousin while we all had a cuppa, so she was very happy. The rest of the day was spent unpacking and doing washing, while little one pottered about amusing herself. Also had a delivery from Tesco so the fridge is filled up again.
We had a lovely few days in London, though I'm shattered now! Little one was a bit disappointed when we arrived, she was saying 'well where's the palace' and 'I can't see the Tower of London' - we realised that she expected to come out of the station and see everything she'd seen pictures of - all lined up in front of her!
She loved staying in the hotel - we were on the 20th floor - she was amazed at how much she could see and at all the lights at night. Much like your nephews' children Gers, she's used to living in a very rural village and seeing sheep and cows not tall buildings! We all enjoyed using the clipper boats to go up and down the Thames, little one didn't care much for the Tube rides, but we had her pushchair so at least she had a seat.
A highlight for her was watching buskers in Covent Garden and Southbank, and being asked to go and join in at one point, she loved it. We found lots of playparks for her to explore - Coram Fields and one at Southbank being her favourites. Oh and she loved watching the soldiers on their horses at Horseguards Parade, though she did ask when they were going to start racing! And squirrels...she had never seen a squirrel before and saw lots.
I'm going to run myself a nice bath. Hope everyone has had a good day x10

On the run but wanted to say what a lovely report from @dp1about the London trip. All,our next generation (and the next) are so rewarding. We can watch their wonder in the world in a way which our parents, and us, couldn’t. You’re such a fabulous grandmother - as are many on here.My two nephews FaceTimed me earlier, one of my great nieces (aged four) talked to me and made me cry. Just to see and hear her over 10,000 mies away was so wonderful. I imagined how my beloved grandmother would have been thrilled to do this. Technologically can be a real pain but there are huge blessings in it.10
