Good morning, not too cold here but raining.
I've just put a load of washing in, but it'll have to go in the dryer, it's just thin poly cotton so shouldn't take too long.
I got through quite a bit of organising yesterday for our caravan holiday, and I've a few household jobs.
Yesterday afternoon dh took the caravan out for a run, just to ensure that everything was ok with it, it was.
Hope everyone is ok, take care folks.

Morning allWell the countdown is over and I'm starting my retirement as from today. Yesterday was a mixture of emotions. I won't miss our boss one little bit and I hope he gets what's coming to him (haven't had to put up with him this week as he was on leave). He didn't even have the decency to wish us well either face to face or on an email. We'll miss lots of the people there and some of the characters we came across (I worked in a prison library). I keep saying we, my colleague and I have worked together for 25 years and we chose to leave together. Right onwards and upwards.Off out shopping soon. It will be a whizz round the supermarket as I have to get back as the boiler man is coming to do his yearly check.Have a good day to you all x15

Morning folks from a very wet, windy and wild Glasgow. Irish storm Kathleen is making an entrance! Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. And a very happy retirement to @Chrisca, too many toxic people in positions of authority.Last nights show was very good. Adam Kaye said it wasn't a comedy event but there were certainly a lot of very funny stuff amongst the few sad and poignant parts. He's a very talented man. Unfortunately a woman took ill, a call 'is there a doctor in the house' brought out about 20 people! Getting the woman out of the row of seats was the main problem. After a wee break the show continued. I thoroughly enjoyed it.My family are having a terrific time at Surfer's Paradise. They fly home tomorrow so are making the most of it. The photos of the young chiidren looking down at a big city are so good, they live a deeply rural life normally. Wide roads, tall skyscrapers and heavy traffic are all alien to them. Now to face my journey home. I suspect it'll be fairly slow and steady, no overtaking wagons today. I had planned to do a bit of shopping but won't, I'd rather be home early.I hope that everyone is warm and dry. At least it's Friday.14

It is a very wet morning here and thank you for starting us off Scarlett.
Enjoy your retirement Chrisca50.
Hope everyone has a good day and weekend.13 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Have a good trip away and woop woop CHRISCA! Here's to a long and happy retirement!
After a long string of rubbish nights I had a very welcome good sleep last night. If we got the promised heavy rain I must have slept through it. It's the calm before the storm this morning with blue sky and sunshine but I know it's not going to last. One thing is for sure, there shouldn't be any hosepipe bans this summer, considering how much rain we have all had this winter.
I made my little trip down to town yesterday and the rain kept away all day. The town centre seems to be getting a little bit busier now but it's probably too late as I can't imagine the closed down shops will be opening up again. So sad to see. No plans today other than the usual Friday Tidy all round. Such excitement!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all and stay safe xx

Morning all
Back from my holiday in Dumfries and Galloway which was great. Some wet weather but only 2 days out of 12 that were completely rained off, and a few days of lovely sunshine.
Unfortunately I had some form of lurgy for the whole trip, luckily I didn’t really feel ill but very congested, a cough and complete loss of smell and taste (several Covid tests…..all negative). The smell taste loss is still there and really frustrating as I like my food!Back to it now , as well as a deep clean of the campervan inside and out I have a mass of craft shop work to catch up on and several loads of washing.Happy retirement Chrisca. Have a good day all

Morning all. More rain here today!
I'm meant to be leading a 3 mile walk today for a group of friends but my back is still very stiff and sore following my morning of childcare on Tuesday. DH will lead the walk instead and I'll meet them afterwards for the planned lunch. Such a nuisance as I've had to cancel some other things because of it and it doesn't seem to be responding well to paracetamol. I might have to buy some ibuprofen, as that's an anti inflammatory, but I know it can upset your stomach so I try to avoid it.
Congratulations to Chrisca on your retirement. May it be a long and happy time for you. What an interesting job you've had, although you might say otherwise! I was a District Nurse, who ended up giving up nursing and then worked for a while in Adult Education and then at the Open University, in the disabled students section, before finally retiring.
Happy days everyone

Morning all,Happy retirement Chrisca!Glad you had a good hol AA- shame about the lurgy though.DH and I had a lovely pub lunch out in Manchester with friends. Apparently Rick Stein has been there and enjoyed it
The trains were mostly ok, a couple were cancelled but ours was ok It took a while to get back though as we just missed our 1 bus an hour after we got off the train. We got a different one that involves a bit of a walk down a muddy path to get to the house. We didnt need any tea, and DH went out again for a short while with his pals.I've taken some burgers , from the butchers out for tea , with cheese and spring onion. It will be a quieter weekend DGS is off to Wales with his DM ,SD & little brother and sister, we might go and watch his team anyway tomorrow morning. It's stopped raining for now- even a bit of blue sky. I might go to Bury market as DH will be out this morning supervising the brickies and a delivery on site.Hope the predicted storms don't do too much damage, take care x

Morning all,
Happy Retirement, Chrisca.Haven’t got out of bed yet so haven’t seen what the weather is doing here. My fibromyalgia played up during the night so it is a slow start this morning.
The shed has now been demolished and it has certainly opened up the garden. Only one fence panel needs replacing as it is rotten, so not too bad at all.
I have my grocery shop being delivered today, although I have just remembered I forgot to order potatoes. Apart from this, it is a day of no plans. I will probably potter with housework, as much as my fibromyalgia allows me to.
Take care all.

Morning All
There's snow this morning - quite unexpected! Looks like it will be a grey, wet day with worse to come. I was woken up but heavy rain during the night but slept quite well for a change.
Our trip to the library wasn't successful yesterday - the list I have shows the wrong library and as we had walked there wasn't enough time to get to the other one. Still, we had some fresh air and did some crafting when we got home - dinosaur gliders - the little one put her wellies on and went outside with them for a while.
No little one until later this afternoon - her Mummy and Daddy are going to a wedding so I'll have her until Sunday afternoon. She's been on a countdown to sleeping here all week! She still won't stay at her Granny's overnight but will happily go there during the day.
Happy, happy retirement Chrisca!
Have a great holiday Scarlet.
Sounds like you had a good time Allie, hope you feel better soon.
Safe trip home Gers, glad you enjoyed the show. Hope the poorly lady is ok.
Shopping to do this morning, not going to do too much housework until little one has gone home on Sunday, doesn't really seem worth it as I'll have to do it all over again and she loves a bit of glitter!
Hope everyone is well - how are you doing Nanny? Take care. XX13 -
Happy retirement Chrisca
