Buildings Insurance almost Doubled???

Hi all

Got my renewal for buildings insurance from TescoBank the other day. Last year it cost £110 but this year they upped it to £250. I phoned them and asked if they could do it any cheaper. I got put through to renewals and was told £205 was the best he could do. I checked the other comparison sites who come in around the same price. I know inflation has been running high but this increase still seems astronomical.

Would be grateful for any advice

Labour / building materials etc etc have rocketed in cost. If the insurer has suffered a high number of claims i.e, from flood damage. Then the cost rises for everybody.

Go through a cashback site, I use topcashback compare and get £33 back and the best prices are invariably cheaper than the renewal
