Seller error, help on proposal

eBay. Seller has inadvertently sent me the wrong parcel, it happens, no big deal. I have a pair of shoes, someone else has my jumper.
The seller has asked that I post the shoes to the correct buyer and that the jumper be posted to me by the recipient.
I have three concerns.
If I don't get the jumper will I have any redress? Presumably there's a time limit.
I don't want the jumper to be posted to me other than Royal mail, this is because none of the delivery companies actually find my address so I spend ages trekking round the neighbours as any photos are usually useless. I'm hoping this isn't unreasonable? I only buy from sellers who offer a click and collect for this reason as I'm usually at work when royal mail deliver.
I'm being offered a refund of the postage, £3.49. I'm not a seller, I have no idea if this will cover the postage of a pair of shoes if I pop up to the post office. Actually I could stop being lazy on this one and see what the seller paid!

However, I wouldn’t do it personally,I would want to do it properly to ensure I was covered. Open a SNAD case, explain you have the wrong parcel, eBay will get seller to send you a pre paid label, when that shows as returned to seller you get a full refund. When seller gets the 2 parcels back, they can re list and you can rebuy.
if you start swapping parcels with someone else you have no protection at al if other buyer doesn’t send or item gets lost en route. Use the eBay system, do it correctly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks Soolin, that's my main concern.0

I’m with Soolin. If you’re all honest and things go well there won’t be a problem, but the other party is a random stranger as you are to them. You have no clue whether they will fulfil their side of the deal. Or if Royal mail !!!!!! up and lose one of the parcels. Let the seller sort it all out.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
I sell quite a bit on eBay, and would not dream of getting the customers to sort this out themselves. I would request each seller returned the incorrect items to myself first.0

It's the Seller's error...and the onus is on them to sort out the mess. They'll bear the 2 x postage return costs, plus the cost to send them to correct recipients. Cheeky of them to even suggest you clear up their mistake0

Don't do it. Go through the proper procedure with Ebay and only communicate through ebay. The seller needs to pay to have the item returned to them and then need to send you the correct item or refund. Open a SNAD case0
