Flexible Octopus or E.On Next Pledge
Hi Guys, I need some advice please trying to decipher whether the Flexible Octopus and E.On Next Pledge tariffs are similar.
I'm currently on the Flexible Octopus tariff, which from the wording on Cheap Energy Club below is 3% less than the current price cap.
To me this seems the same as the E.On tariff, which states "It promises to remain roughly 3% below the Price Cap for a year (so £50/year cheaper at typical use), so when the Cap drops 12% in April, so will this tariff."
Am I correct?
OCTPOUS STATES:
"If the prediction's right, do nothing & over the next 12 months you'll pay 3% LESS than the current Price Cap.We've done this using known and predicted rates (we've no prediction beyond March 2025, so we'll assume it'll stay at next Jan's rate beyond that). This is to give you an idea of how much you'll pay if you 'do nothing'."

Octopus flexible is not £50 below price cap, standing charges are about 4% less, looks to me just predicting what price cap will be compared with now.A1ps said:Hi Guys, I need some advice please trying to decipher whether the Flexible Octopus and E.On Next Pledge tariffs are similar.

Can also get £50 credit switching to Eon Next if look elsewhere online for a referral link.1 -
Thanks bristolleedsfan. So it's definitely worth switching to E.on from Octopus?
And if I read correct, no early exit fees either so can switch to a cheaper tariff if one were to become available.
PS where do we find referral links? Do we not get cashback from switching on Cheap Energy Club?1 -

£50 credit if find a Eon Next referral link by searching on Twitter now known as X, or search on Google

That is for you to decide, as things stand now someone switching from Octopus can switch back 12 months after ceasing to be a customer and get another £50 credit via referral link.1 -
