I thought I didn't need to pay the fine at the time and ignored the letter as I believed I only have to pay the council parking fines and not private company notice fines. I also didn't have any money to pay a £100 fine at the time as I was unemployed.
Can anyone give me some much needed advice as too what should be my next steps as the £255 fine seems very unreasonable to me and the letter is addressed to my father which I don't want him to get involved with any court cases or recieve any more letters, I would prefer evrything to be in my name but I don't want to contact them and admit fault or give them more of a reason to come after me.
ThanksDouble red lines mean no stopping at any time. Red Routes are not common in Leeds, but that cannot be used as a defense.I assume that Leeds City Council will enforce those rules, not the airport, so you do need to pay this fine. Please stop muddying the waters this has nothing to do with the "council", this is not a "fine" it's a speculative invoice from a parking company, and the "double red lines" are copies of an official road marking but on private land.Private parking companies make up their own rules to suit the flow of money into their bank account, they don't manage parking that's just a sideline!2 -

Do the forum search I advised already and copy & adapt that EMA VCS defence.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have completed the acknowledgement of service form online. I have taken a look at some forums regarding the defence but the ones I have seen, I don't thnk apply to my case as the defendant wasn't the actual driver and I don't intend to tell them who was the driver as per previous advice. Can someone point me in the right direction for a defence template for my situation? Thanks.0

Yes, like everyone else: the DEFENDANT (not you) just uses the Template Defence at the top of the forum (no link given, as it's already in the NEWBIES thread resource).
But you seem to have missed the point of the forum search. I was very specific. It takes you to a very relevant VCS Airport defence written last month. You weren't meant to read several. Just the newest search result: an EMA one.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You can of course do all of the work but everything must be done in his name and your father will need to attend any hearing. With a Claim Issue Date of 26th March, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, the Defendant has until 4pm on Monday 29th April 2024 to file a Defence.
That's three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.2 -
And then go use the EMA one to add strength.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi guys, sorry for the late update. I submitted the defence a while back. They sent a letter with the N180 form to my father at the start of May. Around 10 days later they sent this letter (see below). I only recently found out about the letters as they're not addressed to myself as VCS believe my father was the driver, my family didn't inform me about these letters and I only found them by luck. Since Elms Legal are no longer representing VCS, do I still fill out the N180 form? It's been over a month since they sent this letter and I they haven't sent anything else.

Who sent the Defendant the N180?
If it's from the CNBC of course the Defendant must complete the DQ urgently or they are now risking a CCJ.The Defendant needs to start taking the court claim seriously and alert you to all letters if you are helping the Defendant.
YOUR name cannot go on any forms and you are not the person risking a CCJ here. The Defendant must act quicker.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
