EDF early exit fees

I may be completely off the mark here, but I seem to remember there was a thing at some point in the last year about not having to pay for early exit fees anymore?
I have a £300 total early exit fee which was part of the deal I got in Jun 22 from EDF.
(Total fix service Jun24 v3) It's a 2 year fix, so ends at the end of June.
However I would like to get the EDF essentials one which Martin Lewis has recommended as it does seem to be my cheapest option.
When I go to my tariff information on the EDF app, it not longer shows any early exit fees which it did before.
Does anyone have any ideas whether I would be able to move tariff? I contacted EDF a day ago to find out, and they still haven't responded to me - funny that just as a deal is about to end......

Same thing has happened with Octopus, my exit fee is no longer shown in the app.Their new fixed tariff has no exit fee but mine still does, which is fair enough. However, my tariff doesn't expire until mid October, so it's a bit naughty to delete mention of it now.0

I was charged a £50 exit fee (gas only) this morning after moving from one EDF fixed to another.
I called EDF and was sent the following when queried it:"Switch Anytime Guarantee: applies to any 1 year Essentials tariff that launched since 7th March. This means no exit fees when you switch from one of these tariffs to another EDF fixed tariff. Refunded automatically."
I was told that the exit fee will be automatically refunded to my account in 30 days.

Conclusion:
I just called them as no reply from the Whatsapp or the texts still! They said I will be charged the exit fees but they will be refunded back to me within 30 days.
NGL my heart dropped out of my stomach a bit just now looking at my account even when I knew it was going to say I am £300 in debt!
It is not great that the exit fees have dropped off my current tariff information on my app as it looks like they no longer apply at all, which I might put in writing to them to be honest.
Anyway each way I calculated it - this offer was the best one out of all the offers and the price cap, so I'm pretty happy. Hopefully I will remain so!
Thanks everyone!
