DFS faulty goods 30 day return

Has anyone had any success in returning faulty furniture to DFS? Recliner chair delivered without power lead to test it’s working and still no sign of one appearing anytime soon. Anxious to get this returned before the 30 day period is up as it’s obviously not fit for purpose! Store sending out someone to ‘ have a look’ but not confident I’m getting anywhere with them!!

What are they going to have a look at?  Hopefully they'll bring a power lead from a showroom model, otherwise it's a pretty pointless exercise.  What day are you on and when are they coming out?  The trouble with rejecting now might be that you have to wait a long time for the next one to arrive, so if there's time before the 30 days is up, I'd keep chasing and hope it's sorted before then.

what outcome do you want here? If they supply a lead tomorrow and it works all ok - are you happy? Or are you looking to return it anyhow - with the missing lead as the reason?

They have said they are waiting for one to arrive, possibly from China?! Have borrowed the one from the showroom, that didn’t work either, actually want them to take the thing back and give me a refund

Powered recliners don't run at mains voltage.

Typically there will be a kettle lead which plugs into a PSU unit which delivers about 28v to a DIN plug or proprietary connector.
I wouldn't be surprised if every model is slightly different.

Because of the dislike many people have for power cables training across carpets, some recliners are self-contained with a battery pack which can be taken out to recharge.

It's not one of those, is it?

If it's the 30 day short-term right to reject under s22 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (legislation.gov.uk) that the OP is worried about, isn't the 30 day window paused and put on hold if he requests a replacement or repair?  See s 22(6)

If the chair does not function as it's meant to because of a missing power lead, doesn't the 30 day window pause until a lead is supplied?
