Eon payment but I’m no longer a customer!
Options
I today received an email from Eon saying they were crediting my account for their failure to make appointments.
I was sceptical. I was a customer of theirs as SOLR for a short time, switching to Octopus in April 2023. Final bill from Eon received and settled in May 2023.
As the email seemed bizarre, and I was thinking ‘scam’ I didn’t click the link instead logging on through a different device to see if my old password would still work.
It did. My “account” shows a credit balance of £70. This is broken down to 2 payments of £30 each for their failing to make appointments in March 2024 and a goodwill gesture of £10.
I don’t know what to make of it. This credit can’t be used as I’m no longer a customer. Presumably it belongs to somebody else who is awaiting an appointment.
I guess I will watch and wait for a few days to see if it resolves itself, but if not I will need to phone them, but I’m not sure it will help as I’m not the (?disgruntled) customer !

Is there a "request a refund of credit" link on the account...2

The MeteredOut said:Is there a "request a refund of credit" link on the account...However I’ve contacted them today and it is legitimate and they are sending me a cheque.Apparently the dates I was seeing is when they have processed the credits rather than, as I initially believed, the dates of missed appointments. It relates to 2 cancelled appointments to fit my smart meter Dec 22 and Jan 23 before finally fitting it in Feb 23. However I’m still bemused as they didn’t ‘fail to turn up’, but cancelled a few days before each.Lucky me!1
