If you want to switch your non-santander account to an existing santander account then you need to do this in branch, which will most probably require an appointment.

Basically, existing Santander customers have ended up opening another current account and switched their non-santander account to this new account. For most customers the account is opened within minutes and visible in app/internet banking.

There is £25 cashback as well if you go through topcashback.

    Thank you.
That is so weird that we cannot do switch online for existing Santander.

You can also do a switch into an existing Santander account over the phone. Alternatively, you can open a second current account online and you can elect to switch during that application process.

I feel strange, it was not written in the terms and conditions that need to do a switch in the branch or over the phone.

Santander's advice is on their website here:  https://www.santander.co.uk/personal/support/current-accounts/switching

    Which says, quite clearly:

Already have an eligible current account with us? You can switch a current account you have elsewhere to your existing Santander bank account to benefit from this offer. Visit your local branch You may need to book an appointment.

There is an unadvertised phone method too. The phone number exists in the first few pages of the thread.

I think to be safe is open a new Santander account and switch old bank.
even I am existing Santander account.

Calling a phone to switch old bank will not have any proof.

Ask them "will this qualify for the switching bonus". The call will be recorded.

As long as you have a current account with another bank that you are prepared to "sacrifice" - then switching to Santander for their Everyday Current Account is very straightforward online for existing customers.
Quite a few punters open a second basic current account with their main bank in order to be be able to do so - most, if not all main banks allow multiple current accounts to be opened.
If you don't have two (minimum) active Direct Debits to switch there is a 60 day period in which to arrange two (or more) DDs in order to qualify for the £185.
Direct Debits are not required for opening Santander Everyday Current Accounts outwith the switch offer - so they can be ditched after the reward is credited to the account with no issues. Also there are no other strings attached, such as the minimum monthly £500 pay in required for the Santander Edge account - however that is a good deal if you can tick all the boxes, but that is a separate scenario.
If your sacrificial account does not have a debit card then you need to call the Santander switch team on 0800 085 2202 - they use an alternative administrative route to action the switch. Be prepare for a 10 minute wait, it's a busy time for them.
You will receive email confirmation that the switch is actioned and the date on which it is effective.
