Robinhood Launches in UK, thoughts?

Robinhood is the world's most-famous low-fee stocktrading app. Helped spawn the meme-stock frenzy during Covid in 2021.
The UK app user-interface is easy to use. Fast, clear, simple.
The main benefits of the UK app are very low fees to buy and sell US shares, good USD-GBP forex rate (for now), high 5% cash interest rate (for now), margin trading (can be risky), real-time pricing, and 24hr trading.
As others have said, US ETFs are not in there. That's due to US-UK trading legislation. Other UK apps are the same. You also cannot trade UK or any other countries' stocks in the UK app (for now).
So far, for US shares (like Nvidia), this feels much better than its UK app rivals, T212 and Freetrade.

It doesn't look like a proper margin account to me i.e. you can borrow money but rather the odd thing that America has where you need a 'margin' account if you want to buy and sell securities using the value from unsettled trades, so essentially it's the same functionality as a normal UK stockbroking account.Millyonare said:Margin trading is also good to turbocharge returns (but risky).Technically you might be borrowing money for a day or two but not in any risky way or in any way that'll turbocharge your returns.1 -

Is it the best option for small retail UK investors?
It is probably the best option if you want to buy individual US company shares, but for anything else there are many other existing providers that would be better.3 -
People are saying GameStop short squeeze 2 is happening now
is it too late to buy in?0 -
If you're asking random people on the internet whether a share, particularly one being driven by social media memes, is too late to buy, don't buy it. You might get lucky, but are more likely to lose.R200 said:People are saying GameStop short squeeze 2 is happening now

FWIW, related to GME, I think only the bag-holders are left now.0 -
Might as well just give the money to charity. People fell for this "let's bruise the big financial boys" back in 2021, and they're falling for it again.wmb194 said:

Yes, and if you have to ask it's probably too late. Looks like it was down 19% yesterday so probably too late. On the plus side if anyone was still stuck in it from last time this was a chance to get out at a better price.MeteredOut said:
