If all I earn in a year is £5000 all from interest from savings, but I also sell shares that make a clear £6500 profit, would I pay CGT on the £500 over my £6K threshold, or would my £12570 personal allowance cover me?

Unused personal allowance cannot be set against CGT. Note CGT exemption reduces to £3000 feom 6 April.1
