Phone bill& DRO

Options
Hello I really need some help. I got my dro out maybe a year ago Now and I got told to add my phone contact even thought I was still paying it off. I got advice to continue to pay it off even though we added it to the DRO.
in recent months I’ve struggled to pay it and it’s now been sent to a debt collection company. I’ve told them I have a DRO and there telling me it doesn’t matter because I’ve been paying off since recent it doesn’t count.
I really can’t afford the debt and hopefully it’s still covered by my DRO.

    @mummacarla3

DRO`s only last 12 months, so why hasn`t yours completed?

You can`t add debts to a DRO once granted, are you confusing Debt Relief Order with a DMP (Debt management plan)?

are you saying the phone contract was added to your dro, but you kept paying it off.
I'm confused cos it would be included and written off at the end of the 12 months dro.

a mobile phone contract is a form of credit and hence included in your dro.
you take on a PAYG mobile instead whilst your on a dro

a dro.leaves you about £17 a week surplus, I can't understand how and why you kept paying for it.

Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

You can`t add debts to a DRO, it must be a DMP the OP has.

if you are on a dro and a creditor is demanding payment , contact the national debt line and your insolvency practitioner.
    here is a link.
please confirm it's a dro and not a dmp.

  • Sorry for the confusion but basically when I got my dro I got Advised to add on my phone contract but still continue to pay my monthly payments. Currently I’m struggling to pay the monthly bill and they have now taken it to a debt collector but I’m wondering because I did originally add this does it mean I have to pay? Im
just confused because the lady from the debt company told me I still need to pay it off because I continued to pay but then what was the point in putting in my dro?
(Sorry if this doesn’t make sense, thank you for taking the time)

That makes no sense whatsoever, if the debt is included in the DRO you should not be paying it, it could mean failure of your arrangement, please confirm its actually a Debt relief order you have, and not a debt management plan.

It helps if you fully clarify your situation, giving as much detail as possible, so avoiding the drip feeding of information, and then you get your answers quicker.
