66+ Years - 970+ Draws

A very silly question, but will ask anyway.
My mother bought me £12 of Premium Bonds in January, 1957, before the first draw. I still have them and trust they are still entered every month. I have written to NS&I to check that they are, but haven't got very far. Of course, I appreciate that the number in Ernie is immense, but my simple mind thinks it could be posssible to enter the number/s to check. Or is that completely fanciful?
Needless to say none has won a penny so far, but I live in hope!
Thank you!

If you're hoping to find some explicit confirmation that your bonds have been entered into each draw, then yes, that would be fanciful....ennnceee said:My mother bought me £12 of Premium Bonds in January, 1957, before the first draw. Not so much that, but that they're still in there...Filiss0

As well as the numbers on the individual bonds, you should have an overarching ' Premium bond Holders Number' -you will have been sent a card with it on when they first introduced this many decades ago, to the address they had on record for you at the time. With this number you can log on to see if any of the bonds have won in the latest six months worth of draws, plus details of older prizes you;ve not claimed (I'm not sure how far back they go).
Premium Bonds Prize Checker | Check if you have won | NS&I (nsandi.com)
The main thing is to ensure that they have your correct current address on record, as this is where any winning cheques would be sent to (and having had one get lost in the post in the past, I think they also send a further communication if the cheque isn't cashed within a given timeframe).
I have a feeling that if you set up an NS&I onlnie account you may also be be to check what bond numbers they believe you currently hold (and that will therefore be entered into each draw).
but with only £12 of bonds, I think that statistically it's unlikely that you will have won anything, even after the length of time you have had them.0 -
I have a £1 premium bond bought by my parents when I was born in 1963! no idea whether it is worth checking it now.ennnceee said:A very silly question, but will ask anyway.

I would. Apparently, there are over 2 million unclaimed premium bond prizes, totalling over £81 million !katejo said:I have a £1 premium bond bought by my parents when I was born in 1963! no idea whether it is worth checking it now.
