switch to EDF Essentials 1Yr Apr25
Hi all, I'm currently with Scottish Power (variable standard online) and saw that there are some fixes which aren't too bad... e.g. EDF Essentials 1Yr Apr25. Do you think this is a good move given the price caps? I'm paying £120 by DD at the moment, would welcome a drop to £100. Are there other fixed rates that could beat this (except Utility Warehouse)? Thanks.
EDF Essentials 1Yr Apr25
Estimated cost: £99/mth or £1,182/yr
Tariff type: Fixed until 30 Apr 2025
Saving over current rate: £277/yr (-18%) inc. cashback
Saving over April Price Cap: £78 (-6%) less
Early exit fee: £100
Cashback: £20 paid in 3-6 mths

Have a look at the main MSE page regarding tariffs on offer from the various energy companies.
You should be comparing UNIT RATES and STANDING CHARGES rather than the predicted Direct Debit amounts unless they are based on exactly the same estimated usage figures with both companies.
I am not sure where I saw it or the truth of the information, somebody posted that the EDF tariff you are considering will be pulled later this week.
I am already with EDF and have taken a punt on the Essentials 1 Year April 25 tariff, time will tell......0 -
Thank you. The quotation (and comparison) is based on usage, not on amount. I used the MSE energy club.0
