    I think you'd get the old rate if you taxed 12 months from March to March, but you also don't get any partial refunds so it's probably not worth double-taxing it in March to avoid the increase.

    Depending on what RPI looks like this year, I will SORN my car in the Christmas holidays, and tax it again on 1st or 2nd of January. (Tax is due May 1st)

    I don't need to drive it for that week, so I will save the increase money from May-December- of course, this only works once, so it is best done when RPI is high.
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    (except air quality and Medical Science ;))
