Refund to closed bank

I switched my bank from Monzo to Barclays but ended up closing my Barclays.
I’m expecting a refund to my Monzo account which I switched Barclays (now closed) I assume this will bounce back to the retailer of both accounts are now closed? Sorry if that’s confusing!

If you did a CASS switch from Monzo to Barclays but then simply closed the Barclays account without a switch, then yes, the money should bounce back to the retailer.1

I assume CASS is the switching service when you open a new bank and asks you if you want to switch? If so, yes I used that! Thanks for your help!0

Sorry, yes, it's the Current Account Switching Service, the process that transfers all of your regular payments instructions and redirects transactions thereafter.0
-
yes that is one purpose of the switching service - all payments into the old closed bank account will be forwarded automatically to the new one0

@km1500 which would not work in this case as the OP has now closed BOTH accounts.
@holmesJ94 you will need to contact whoever is paying you the refund and give them new account details.0 -
Yes I used the CASS service.I contacted the retailer and they advised they would need to wait for it to bounce back to them before they will try to refund to another bank.0
