What makes you think that the daughter drives? Not everyone drives. There's 2 parts to Motability, moving around for physical conditions and following and planning a journey for mental health, cognitive and sensory issues. Your ability to drive a vehicle has nothing to do with the mobility part.born_again said:

Ironically, I can barely walk but do not qualify for enhanced mobility. My daughter, because she struggles to navigate situations, is entitled.
If you struggle to navigate, how do you drive anywhere. 🤷♀️
You won't lose it because of the £7,000. Though you would trade in the mobility allowance for a vehicle so yes you would receive the money as well but then you would have a new car.MouldyOldDough said:If I decided to go for a Motability car, my Suzuki would currently achieve £7000 from WeBuyAnyCar – but I would then lose £280 income per month from PIP.
car tax is £35 –
You need Enhanced mobility PIP to join the scheme. Just checking this because you mention £35 car tax for your current vehicle but you're entitled to free road tax with Enhanced mobility.
I do get enhanced mobility and care for 10 yearsWhat the Fxxx. Its not hard to get.One trip to the post office. Then next year you just do it online, 3 minute job.Our car is only £35 a year for road tax.2016 -2023 + 2024 rise 6 x £30 + £35 = £215 saved with one trip to post office. But you get more benefits if tax class is disabled, Dartford crossing free.M6 toll road, £7 for the year, £8.40 each way if not.london congestion charge free, £10 fee to register. If you keep renewing when blue badge runs out you do not pay again.

That makes more sense, Maybe on a trip out you might find a more accessible post office.MouldyOldDough said:Bigwheels1111 said:MouldyOldDough said:

Or get a friend to take the paperwork into a post office for you.
I did it for the wife, so can’t see why someone could not do it for you.
Here are the tolls etc.

And that apparently can be based on PIP Mobility rather than the vehicle
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
I would stick with the Suzuki if you are only doing 2000 miles a year. You are still entitled to free car tax for that vehicle. Also there is the possibility of your Motability car being returned if your PIP is reassessed not in your favour, it does happen.0

My PIP is on a long term basis - 10 years (8 remaining)jazzy said:I would stick with the Suzuki if you are only doing 2000 miles a year. You are still entitled to free car tax for that vehicle.
