What are your earnings?
Cannot be anything to do with HMRC they are not involved in actual deduction of tax/NI all done by employers.0 -
Over what timescale ?Boxingfergie said:Hi Folks.

ps - probably a good idea to use a spellchecker when posting.0 -
Is the evidence that tax and NI haven't been paid based on what your payslips say or the details that are recorded in your personal tax account? Both are most likely to be due to an error made by your employer, but there is a small chance that the latter could be due to HMRC misallocating payments that they have received correctly from your employer.

Payslips read correctly. Boss has just got back to me and said he suspects a payroll error. Im not overly concerned, its a very decent small business, im just curious as to how the outstanding gets paid and whether there will be any repurcissions for me because of their error lol0

What is your tax code?
Is the tax code you have correctly shown on the payslips?
Did you provide the new employer with the P45 from the previous employment, or did you submit the "new starter checklist"?
If the latter, what was entered on the "new starter checklist"?
What is your salary? Is it above the relevant thresholds for making employee's NI and income tax payments?
Have any pension deductions been correctly made?
Are you doing anything such as Salary Sacrifice?0 -
Recommenced work after 2 year break, so no p45. New starter checklist done. Tax code on payslip is standard whole of uk even though i am in scotland, was told they were awaiting correct code from hmrc. Well above threshold. Relatively small pension payment taken per month.Grumpy_chap said:What is your tax code?

The payslip reads fine except the tax code.0 -
Tax could be explained by 5 months back allowances for possible no taxable income and assuming starter checklist done correct. Does not explain NI though. If you could give figures from last payslip would have a better idea what is happening.0

Can you clarify, are you saying your payslips show the correct deductions?Boxingfergie said:Payslips read correctly. Boss has just got back to me and said he suspects a payroll error. Does your Personal Tax Account show different payslip info or no payslip info at all?0 -
