Lasting Power of Attorney

Options
My husband and me have LPAs  for property and finance set-up whereby we are attorneys for each other with our two children set up as replacement attorneys.  To make things easier We want to change this so that they are attorneys alongside my husband for me and me for my husband.  I know we will have to make new LPAs but I'm not sure if we can do this firdt and then cancel the old ones once the new ones are in place as I know there's a long wait to get the new ones registered with the office of public guardian and we don't want to cancel the existing ones until the new ones are in place.

Making a new LPA does not automatically revoke the old one but there is nothing stopping you making a new one before you revoke the old one so you should be able at avoid leaving a gap.
