I am looking to replacing my twin tub machine with a automatic washing machine.

I live in a flat and I great on great with my neighbours below I have wooden floors so I am looking for a quiet machine (is there such a thing) or as quiet as possible anyone got any recommendations on what to buy and any tips for dealing with the noise please?

  • Make sure the WM is installed level.

You could buy some foam pipe lagging, space four rows of the material out equally on the floor, put a 600mm x600mm piece of chipboard on top of the foam, then install WM.

If the WM is near a pipe chase and there is an access hatch, you could stuff insulation in the void.

There are some WM's that use induction motors ? which are quieter.

Wish we all had neighbours like you ;)
  • eco-friendly thanks for your reply.

The council are fitting a kichen in so I thought I might as well get me a new washing machine still trying to decide which make to get. I've saved up the money, thought I get one in the sales. My sister has had a few over the years so It looks like she coming shopping with me.
