Carpet cleaner warranty

Hi,
I bought a VAX spot cleaner , it worked well but the hose has split rendering it useless.
I bought it new from an Amazon marketplace seller. It failed aftee 14 months, VAX hace a 3 year warranty if you register (not sure I did).
VAX are saying they will not honour any warranty as they don't recognise tge seller.
The seller says its outside warranty and it isnt registered (so what)
This item was rarely used and I am seriously unhappy.
What is the best action to take?
Thanks
Rob

Your best action to take is not to waste any more time over that warranty, but to tell the seller that you require them to replace or repair the cleaner under your statutory consumer rights.
The easiest thing for them to do would be to send you a replacement hose.
How much did the cleaner cost and exactly how did you pay for it?
The answers to those questions don't affect your statutory rights but can make it easier to get a resolution if the seller is uncooperative.0 -
After 6 months it is up to you to prove the item was inherently faulty. To be honest a hose splitting in such a short timespan is likely down to damage rather than failure. A local appliance spare shop may be able to fit a new hose to the end fittings or supply a complete hose.

You could pursue the seller. Or you could just buy a replacement hose. https://www.vax.co.uk/spares-and-solutions/spares0

You have already replaced with one aftermarket part therefore I imagine the original isn't available for inspection. Just buy the correct part.1
