Morocco 2 weeks suggestion

I am flying to Casablanca for 2 weeks. 3 school age kids and 2 adults. Nothings planned, I’ve done this impulse buy before and had a great unplanned holiday. But that was Italy with European Trains and 1 less child. So I want other travellers suggestion.

I’m thinking Casablanca 2 days. 5 days fez, 5 days Marrakesh and then come back to Casablanca for 2 days before we fly back. Do sort of a triangle clockwise.

How is it like getting private taxis for 5 people and luggage?

Anything to avoid or to add to itinerary?

I want to avoid Aghadir as it’s not our thing although the kids do love the beach and hoping Casablanca got decent beach.

I don't think there's a great deal to do in Casablanca - if it weren't for the film I doubt if it would have many visitors ...  I'm not a beach person and apart from the huge modern mosque there's not a great deal to see or do.

Fes and Marrakesh are excellent.  Meknes is also worth a visit and can easily be done as a day trip from Fes on the train.  I liked Rabat which is a short ride on the train from Casablanca.  You can do day trips from Marrakesh to the foothills of the Atlas Mountains which make a nice break from the city.

Trains are good in Morocco and first class very affordable, so I would choose that for travelling rather than a taxi.  As ever Seat 61 has all the details

I've never been to the mountains in the north between Meknes and Tangiers, but I understand there are some lovely places there.

Tripadvisor forums are best for these sort of very destination specific questions.
    Google tripadvisor morocco forum.

When you are going might dictate the sort of thing you do. The heat might be too much at certain times of year, the summer months will be scorching. We had a long weekend in Marrakesh end of Feb, it was sunny and hot then, great for winter sun. We stayed in a Riad inside the media, but kids might prefer a hotel with a bigger pool, and helps to cool down too. It wasn't hot enough for the pool to have warmed up when we were there.

We didn't go outside the city as it was such a short break, so can't help with other destinations, for us 3 days was perfect to wander, explore the souks, see some of the places and just relax too.

Hope you have an amazing trip.

I didn't go to Casablanca as was told it's an industrial town

Agadir, yes most of it is modern but there is a beach and some good historical sites which were not effected by the earthquake so maybe have a look at the area.  Do check out the likely wind speeds though
