FordPass: location tracker

My new Ford provides an app called FordPass. One feature of this is that it shows the location of the car on a mobile phone.

Does this fulfil the insurance question:

You may have also heard of these referred to as Thatcham-Accredited tracking systems. Some insurers may also refer to these as VTS (Vehicle Tracking Systems). Either way, many insurance providers now insist that your car is fitted with a monitored stolen vehicle tracker.

Do car thieves deactivate the Ford trackers?
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Just looking at a few posts on there would seem to suggest it's not Thatcham accredited, but you can always join and find out more

    Kia has the same thing.
They are not trackers, as they are not manned 24/7 or have any contact with the police to track.

Kia easily defeated by simply deleting user profile in car. Possible that ford is the same.

If it were approved, Ford would be shouting about it.

Thank you. I will have a look. I mildly suspected that that would be the case.

When I part exchanged my Ford the dealership did that. When I looked at the app on my phone a couple of days later, there were no details visible.
