Brie said:Paying your rent on a credit card is unlikely to work and I can't see how you'll gain if you did this and put money into PBs instead as there's no guarantee of gaining anything but you'll still have to pay a transfer fee. If you do get a card (likely with a much smaller limit than suggested) you might see if the same bank will provide a higher interest savings account as well. That way you are normally guaranteed some interest.

Why would you want to upgrade your Santander account? Just open an Edge Account. Keep your existing account as is. Don't worry about credit checksI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

They wont let me switch for some reason...not eligible apparently.....if I want to "switch" and gain the switch cash I have to go to local branch!!! talk about a backward step...my local branch is on the moon and the flights are too expensive...bah humbug...so why am I not "eligible" this is why I reckon using uswitch to get the amazing cc deal would never have happned if I had applied direct.

I had thought everything that went on in the current account was checked and that any savings were always a good sign.

I just saw your last sentence about savings. If the DWP take savings into account, then yes, they would be taken into account. The fact the savings are balanced by 0% debt wouldn't make a difference to the DWPI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1
