My wife and I received winter fuel payments, are we liable for 2023/24 income tax on these?

I applied in May for Pension Credit and after waiting, phoning, being told I would receive a phone call within 10days, I phoned again 31/7 to be told that the department are still dealing with applications from September 2023!!
With the sudden rush for many to apply so that they are able to receive winter payments, the department will no doubt be in chaos, how can we get our pension credits sorted before this coming winter?0 -

There are very long (horrendously long) backlogs on pension credit claims at the moment.0

. I’m looking forward to getting the award letter, they seem to be about 2 weeks behind.
So if anyone is not eligible for PC but gets Attendance Allowance then it’s worth applying for PC/applying again as the parameters change. I don’t know the technical reason, hopefully others will know.2 -
That's brilliant news 👏0
