Joint account without the link on credit file

OH is going through a financial disassociation with ex wife (who has CCJs). He and I are looking to get a joint account for our emergency money but we don't want a link on the credit file. We're looking for the simplist of accounts with no borrowing facilities, can anyone recommend an account that won't result in a financial link on our credit files?

I can't think of any.
Most will credit search both of you before opening.
Why don't you want the link?0 -
If you have a joint account then you are financially associated - simply through the existence of that account.
There's no getting around it.
If it's emergency money, why not simply put it in a savings account? Instead of you each paying, say, £50 a month to a joint account, you each put £50 a month into separate savings accounts?
An account (e.g. like ING) where you can simply call money online into your current account would give you easy access to the emergency fund, when you need it.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

He is financially linked to his ex-wife (through a mortgage) who now has a number of CCJs. His solicitor is currently arranging financial disassociation, but I don't want to risk linking myself to her.£4000 challenge

Unless you had joint borrowing or a joint account with her you wouldnt.0

There are savings accounts that come with cashcards (for example, the YBS Internet Saver). If you each had one of these, it might offer some more flexibility than standard savings accounts, since if you needed to you could give your OH some direct access to the funds in your account and vice versa.0
