EON Drive fixed V2
I have recently purchase an EV (Mustang Mach E) so I am looking at my options for which energy tariff to be on. I am currently with EON, on their Next Pledge V3 deal which runs until December with a £25 exit fee per fuel. I have an EON smart meter installed.
I am currently paying 26.88p per kWh for electricity that will go down to 22.43p per kWh on the 1st.
The Next Drive Fixed V2 is 30.69p per kWh between 7am and midnight, and 8p per kWh between midnight and 7am.
That 8p per kWh difference between 30.69 and 22.43 seems like a lot more to be paying during daylight hours. Obviously the prices of the cap are coming down in a few days time. So I am wondering if this will mean EON create a Next Drive Fixed V3 with lower rates in the coming days/weeks?
I have done some very rough maths based on my usage. I have tracked how much energy I used last year very closely so I know that average per month is accurate and the 3 miles per kWh seems to be able the average for the car, some slightly higher some slightly lower.
So at current rates I would be £16 a month better off on the EV tariff. Obviously I would be sensible about it. Tumble dryer, washer etc would be set to come on on timers to be between the off peak hours which would increase the gap further but I don't have the data on how much I used those so I've left it as it is.
