The Times - subscription prices - can it be cheaper?

What prices have people achieved with haggling/cancelling?

Only 2 price tiers on offer for digital only.
£26 full digital
£15 a month but useable on 1 smartphone device only (not tablet or pc/laptop), which is no good for family usage

Has anyone managed to negotiate cheaper?  Given subscription doesn't make it ad free and Netflix with ad's is well under £10 for example. £26 is extraordinairily expensive.

Mods: Have put this in this category because it's still a media subscription.

If you believe what people write in the comments sections then just threatening to cancel gets you a 50% reduction. I haven't tried because I think a pound a day for something that takes me all morning to read is quite good value.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Any students in the family? It's about £20 for an annual student subscription (online only)

I got it down to £6.50/month for 6 months by threatening to leave. I still miss being able to get the paper free in Waitrose though.

Do you have an iPhone? If so, you could subscribe to Apple News+ for £12.99 a month. This includes access to the Times and Sunday Times as well as a load of other newspapers and magazines.

I believe you can share this subscription through family sharing in iCloud.

full print and full digital subscription currently £65 per month. Doesn’t seem to be an option that has no tablet access.

Had a student subscription since 2015 and every year since have just paid £20, however, today received email informing me that from late July it would go up to £10 pm for 12 months then £26. I have have cancelled as its only worth the £20 pa imo - no offers to stay made to me while on the phone
