I got critical health cover through work.
In March 2023 I started diagnosis for a neurological condition.
In January 2024, the company tupe'd me to an outsource company losing the benefits I had and I was told I can't carry on my cover.
March 2024 the diagnosis of MND was confirmed. Obviously between Jan 2024 and March 2024 I didnt have cover because no one would.
Can I claim on the policy I had in 2023 as that's where my diagnosis started?

At the end of the day there is no harm in speaking to your previous employer and checking the terms of the policy. Not all conditions under the MND banner tend to be covered, looking randomly at L&G as an example doesn't cover PMA or Kennedys.
Often you need to meet the requirements whilst an employee for the above policy again it required a definitive diagnosis by a neurologist and confirmation of permanent impact on motor function. Sounds like your diagnosis was post leaving employment and so would not have cover under the former policy. Naturally other policies (inc those from L&G) may have different terms0
