When you communicated with the landowner/MA, did you highlight that they are jointly and severally liable for the actions of their agent? That and a question about who is the monkey and who is the organ grinder in their contractual relationship should have been included.
    Hey nopcns

Really good point....I did certainly call this out to them. They have repeatedly renounced any control over any charges issued stating they cannot cancel them (they did always call them fines),

I sent them 3 well versed emails and on the last one summarising
    • Signs are not in compliance with the International Parking Community (AOS membership) v9 2024 (1st Jan)
    • It's a really !!!!!! thing to not cancel it (not just you but also Jump Warehouse)
    • Please contact NPC and cancel this unenforceable, unfair and disproportionate to your losses (= £0) parking charge.

    Their response -

Please raise your concerns around signage and the legality of the parking charge directly with NPC.
We will be unable to respond to any further communications on this matter.

I've also called them out on the difference between being unable to, and being unwilling to, cancel the charges. Effectively they are defaulting to 'not our problem' approach. In my mind this puts them in the same league as the leaches that the PPCs are sadly.

I wouldn't' mind but it's clear that they've either not acted on either good advice from the PPC about signage or their PPC has not done a good enough job. Plus the points that Coupon-Mad made about changes in T&Cs and unfair practices/wording.

I am, to say the least flabbergasted at their apparent inadequacies as human beings. But hey ho, we'll see what comes...I am really surprised that Jump Warehouse couldn't be bothered to reply once, not even an acknowledgement that it may have happened etc.

Re read this, sorry - No I'm not sure I specifically did mention the jointly and severally liable for the actions of their agent.

I guess ultimately any contract between the two would mean that to be correct. If so, how would I confidently relay that? - is there a part of a contract like this that would stipulate this...

    The IPC COP States:
Where there is any change to any pre-existing terms and conditions that would not be immediately apparent to
a person visiting the Car Park and which materially affects the Motorist the Operator should place additional
(temporary) notices at the entrance making it clear that new terms and conditions/charges apply, such that
regular visitors who may be familiar with the old terms do not inadvertently incur Parking Charges. Notices
should be in addition to the signage ordinarily required and left in place for an appropriate period.
Now I doubt this was adhered to?
    Also, surely stating:
Drivers of unauthorised vehicle will be charged a release fee.
Is basically clamping by a different title?

Does Jump Warehouse have a social media presence? They really don't like it when they get negative reviews, especially for issues like this which, ultimately affects their business. No doubt they've lost you as a customer and no doubt any family, friend and acquaintances you have that may have gone there.

They need to learn that poor customer service and using scammers to rip off their customers is not conducive to profit making.

Spot on Fisherjim, not adhered to at all..in fact they had left the old 'fine' signs up to confuse matters further (gone since my complaint of course) - the whole entrance is a mess of advertising boards and different signs pointing all over the shop, very confusing indeed.

Yeah, so that old sign has gone - the 'new' ones are the T&Cs but only in the car park, the entrance sign that I've shown above only covers a small car park right outside the business, basically really shoddy job by the PCC or landowner in signage...

So yes, they do, but really only on FB with a strong following (someone complained recently and the others went for her)! _ not about parking mind,

And you are spot on, they don't like negative press. I think an honest review of my experience literally no communication from them would suffice to question their customer loyalty - unfortunately they probably get enough +ve experiences to counteract a few bad ones..Someone had the ceiling collapse half way through a kids party recently and they refused to make any sort of compensation or refund, so think that tells you what we're dealing with!

But, you're right...a few 'questions' wouldn't be remiss.

A quick search found an Instagram page. Also, if they're not yet on TrustPilot, you can add them and provide your review. Every little bit helps.

  • I've been reading through people's cases over the last little while on this journey and it's really starting to boil my blood how these PPCs operate, I've just looked up NPCs office, I can see they work out of a Regus office (nothing wrong with that), but clearly this is some jobsworth that has nothing better to do that leach the public...

My blood has been steaming for many years since UKPC tried to sting me twice, they never got a penny from me and I have tried to help here ever since.
I actually lived not far from their HQ which was quite a nice modern building in Beaconsfield hidden off a road near the railway, but you could not find this address anywhere relating to them, their owner lives near by in a large house obviously off the radar.
Their stated company HQ on all paperwork and Companies House was Coventry, on investigation that was a mail drop (similar to what you found with NPC) with many companies registered there.
They had another three addresses at the time for correspondence for their scamming PCN appeals etc one was the Royal Mail sorting office at Uxbridge, another was a newsagents on the A40 near Denham I can't remember the other alias address.
Yes, nearly all of these dimwits have latched on to a money making scheme which relies on a smoke and mirrors approach and they are so dodgy they don't want anyone to find them.
It's about time that Companies House stopped allowing all this cloak and dagger stuff and made all companies come clean, not to mention the way failed firms can re-morph under a different name/family member doing the same business.
