Solicitors - what to expect

I need to get possession of my property and I believe that paying for a specialised solicitor instead of doing the paper work etc myself have less chance of getting it wrong and be 'error free'
I had managed to get a solicitor name from an estate agent who instruct them for possesion order / eviction. (I assume they have been successful with the eviction process.) Initally the person I had spoken with at the solicitors (not legeally trained), had told me that it will 2 - 3 days to review the documents / certticates I had provided to my Tenants. On the fourth day I spoke with this person and was told that she had been off sick for one day. Then she had emailed me the same 6 out of 8 questions that I have already answered. I am wondering whether I should worry?? as these are the initial stage of checks and she did not noticed I had answered them and when I asked some basic questions she was unsure (she has 20 years experience in this type of work). As I have lost 3 months already so time is imporant but I also want to get a firm who can get me back possession and error free is paramount. Or is this how solictiors work, as once the intial stages had completed they will charge by the hour ? Your thoughts welcome.

I would be worried if they are asking you questions that you have already answered. Whether or not they should know the answers to the basic questions you asked is difficult to tell, but it's another reason to be worried.
You should not have to ask the internet how the solicitor will charge for their work. It is there job to tell you this, and if they don't you need to remind them that you have not agreed to any fee structure yet.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -
Did you not get a estimate of the cost before instructing them to start the process?
Why do you assume they have been successful with the eviction process? I would have thought if that was the case, there would be no questions to answer.Life in the slow lane0
