Amazon - legal department

Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of dealing with Amazon's legal dept. or product safety and recall team please?
I bought an item from them in June 2021 which subsequently caused a personal injury. It transpired that it had previously been recalled several months earlier by the OPSS (Office of Product Safety & Standards) and that Amazon had issued a recall/safety notice at the time. However, they kept selling the product.
An immediate claim to the seller (via Market Place) led to them striking themselves off at Companies House and disappearing.
I have been going round in circles with Amazon for three years and not even getting a response, as I feel they have failed in their duty of care etc.
Any suggestions please? Or does anyone have an email for Mr Bezos?

If they're due to compensate you then you do a letter before action to their registered office. You don't need a contact in their "legal department", they'll deal with it internally how they see fit.1 -
My understanding is that whilst Amazon facilitate the transaction, your contract of sale is with the seller.
I would investigate the possibility of a Section 75 claim if you paid by credit card. Whilst this is not the standard type of Section 75 claim, you might be able to make the case.

I have been going round in circles with Amazon for three years and not even getting a responseI think you are wasting your time.My understanding is that Amazon are not liable for products that Marketplace sellers sell however there is new legislation (Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill) currently going through the House of Lords, the third reading is tomorrow as it happens, that will make Amazon equally liable in cases like yours - sadly I doubt this will be retrospective and so will be of no help to you.

If you bought it in 06/2021, initially claimed off the seller and only switched to Amazon after that failed, how can they have given you the run around for 3 years? You presumably weren't chasing them before you bought it?
3 years is important because the statute of limitations gives you 3 years to make an injury claim before its statute barred. I'm not sure what liability you can pin on Amazon as a market place but you'd be better engaging with a lawyer for the significant injury (assuming broken bones, loss of fingers etc) than find yourself out of time.
An email for Jeff is readily available online, like all executives he'll have a PA that screens his emails so is unlikely to see it personally. From memory he is one example where sending anything to him doesn't get you special treatment, indeed the one email I once send was never responded to.1
