Black copper pipework

Hello
Noticed some pipework under the sink had become black in places.
At first I thought it was severe scorch marks from when it was installed 7 years ago but I can scratch it off even with my finger nail to reveal the brass underneath
Also no sign of leaking
Any ideas?

Cold water pipe ?Probably condensation, and mould growth. Just give it a wipe over once in a while.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
If the flexible discharge pipe is carrying warm/hot water that could be adding to condensation, especially if touching waterpipe.0

Could be soot from the time it took the blowtorch to melt all the solder1
