Cannot unscrew to change mixer shower hose

Am having problem to unscrew it seems to have seized up. I have unscrewed a few days ago and it was fine. I have used pliers,  oil and white vinegar with no joy. Tried to unscrew anti-clockwise. It’s old and dirty probable the whole unit needs replacing. Can anybody offer some advice pl? Thanks

I agree with Stuart. You need an adjustable spanner rather than pliers.

Definitely anti-clockwise as far as the joint is concerned? As we are looking at it, anti -clockwise would tighten it (I think- I just know I had to adjust the direction I was thinking from when I was loosening pipe joints once)

If you successfully unscrewed this a few days ago, Cherry, then almost certainly it'll be easily doable now.
Two possible reasons why not - you are turning it the wrong way as described by others - imagine looking UP at it from below, and then turn it anti-c - or perhaps you cross-threaded it when you replaced it before? Does water dribble out of the connection?
Assuming you are not turning it the wrong way, will you be replacing the hose? If so, throw caution t'wind, and grab any type of plier that'll grip the collar, and fire away. It will come loose.
