THE MAIL’S £60K SPRING PUZZLES BONANZA

Conditions of entry

1.This promotion (each, a “Prize Draw” and together, the "Promotion") is only open to legal residents of the United Kingdom, and excludes employees and agents of (a) the Promoter and/or (b) any company connected with the production or distribution of this Promotion, as well as any members of their immediate family (e.g. spouse, parent, child, sibling) and persons living in the same household.

2. Entrants must be aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Proof of eligibility must be provided upon request. By entering the Promotion entrants are deemed to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions.

3. To enter:

(i) the daily £5,000 Giant Wordsearch Prize Draw, entrants will need to answer the Giant Wordsearch correctly and submit their answer by 23:59 on the day of publication of that wordsearch via:

Online entry (free entry route) – Entrants can go to Mailplus.co.uk/springpuzzles and submit their answer and contact details; or
Text entry – Entrants can text 65700 with the word CASH followed by their answer and full name (e.g. CASH ANSWER Sue Smith), texts cost £1 per text plus your usual network charge; or
Telephone entry – Entrants can call 0901 293 5200 and leave the answer, plus their full name and phone number, calls cost £1 by a premium rate phone call plus your usual network charges.

(ii) the week-long £20K Prize Draw, entrants will need to collect their answers to the daily riddles published in the Mail every day and complete the solutions grid published on Friday 5 April 2024 and submit this by 23.59 on Sunday 7 April 2024 via:

Online entry (free entry route) – Entrants can go to Mailplus.co.uk/springpuzzles and submit their answer plus their contact details; or
Text entry – Entrants can text 65700 with the word WIN followed by their answer and their full name (e.g. WIN ANSWER Sue Smith) texts cost £1 per text plus your usual network charge; or
Phone entry – Entrants can call 0901 293 5201 and leave their answer followed by their full name and phone number, calls cost £1 by a premium rate phone call plus your usual network charges; or
Mail+ Editions subscribers can submit their answer on the Mailplus.co.uk app.

4. The Promotion is free to enter via Mailplus.co.uk/springpuzzles; however, internet access is required, or Entrants can enter via SMS which costs £1 per text or via telephone which costs £1 by a premium rate phone call, plus your usual network charge. Entrants can also enter the £20,000 Brain Teaser Jackpot game via the Mail+ Editions app (open to Mail+ Editions subscribers only).

5. You may enter the daily and weekly competition by phone or text as many times as you wish, but only one free entry per daily and weekly game will be accepted via Mailplus.co.uk/springpuzzles and only one entry per entry via the Mail+ Editions app.

6. The promotional activity for the Giant Wordsearch Prize Draw will run from Saturday 30 March 2024 until Friday 5 April 2024 and the promotional activity for the Week Long prize draw shall run from Friday 5 April until Sunday 7 April 2024 (the “Promotion Period”).

Winner

There is one daily Prize Draw over 7 days in relation to the wordsearch to win £5,000 cash and there will be 1 (one) winner each day.
There is one weekly competition to win £20,000 cash and there will be 1 (one) winner.
Winners will be randomly selected from all eligible correct entries, conducted by a computer process that produces verifiably random results, from all eligible entries. Daily £5k winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries held on the following working day. The weekly winner will be selected from all eligible entries held within 3 working days.
Daily £5k winners will be notified that they have won their prize within 2 working days of the competition closing. The weekly winner will be informed within 5 working days of the competition closing. The winners will be given details of how to accept their prize. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the provisional winners, but it is each winner’s responsibility to monitor their phone and / or email address (including spam folder and voicemail for receipt of the notification). Failure by the winners to accept the prize in the manner specified within 5 working days of the Promoter's contact will make any claim invalid and the Promoter will then select another winner using the same random process.
The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Prize does not include travel/transportation, accommodation, food, beverages, souvenirs, gratuities, car parking charges, or any other costs of a personal nature (including spending money) that are not explicitly set out in these Terms and Conditions and neither the Promoter nor any provider of any part of the Prize will be responsible for any such costs.
Gifts, prizes and other promotional items are not transferable, may not be re-sold and are subject to availability. The Promoter reserves the right in their reasonable discretion to substitute any such gift, prize or item with a gift, prize or item of equal or greater value.
By entering the Promotion, each entrant acknowledges that in the event of a win, their surname and county of residence may be disclosed to persons enquiring, where permitted by law. Provided no objection is received from the winners, a winners list will be made available by the Promoter 4 weeks after the end of the Promotion Period, for a period of 8 weeks. To request the winners list, please email competitions@mailnewspapers.co.uk. Without prejudice, the Promoter will provide winner information to the Advertising Standards Authority when requested by them.
Entrants agree to provide reasonable cooperation to allow the Promoter to use the name and/or likeness of the winner for advertising and publicity purposes in connection with this Promotion including but not limited to publication of the winner's name and photograph on the Promoter’s websites. In addition, by submitting an entry and in consideration of the Promoter granting a right to enter the Promotion, entrants agree to grant the Promoter a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable right and licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to any materials contained in the entry (including but not limited to text, images or video materials) (the “Materials”) worldwide and/or to incorporate the Materials in other works in any media now known or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in the Materials. By submitting Materials to the competition, an entrant:
1. warrants that the Materials are its own original work and that it has the right to make them available for all the purposes specified above; that it does not infringe any law; that it is not obscene or libellous; and that it does not violate the rights of any third party;
2. agrees to indemnify the Promoter against all legal fees, damages and other expenses that may be incurred as a result of a breach of the above warranty;
3. agrees to waive any moral rights in the Materials for the purposes of its submission to, and publication by, the Promoter and the purposes specified above.

Any personal information provided to us during the entry process (including but not limited to your name, e-mail address, telephone number and date of birth) must be correct. We accept no responsibility for any incorrect personal information provided to us.

General

The determination and decision of the Promoter on all matters shall be final and no promotional correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
The Promoter reserves the right in its reasonable discretion:
1. to disqualify any claimant, competitor or nominee whose conduct is contrary to the spirit of the rules or the intention of the promotion and to declare as void any or all of their claims or entries based on such conduct;
2. to declare as void any claims or entries resulting from any printing, production and/or distribution errors (including but not limited to any error(s) on any website of the Promoter, any game cards and/or other printed materials) or where there has been error(s) in any aspect of the preparation for or conduct of the promotion materially affecting the result of the promotion or the number of claimants or the value of claims;
3. to add to or to waive any rules on reasonable notice; and/or,
4. to cancel the promotion or any part of it at any stage in the event of circumstances beyond the Promoter's reasonable control.
No entries will be accepted in bulk, from agents or third parties.
To the fullest extent permitted by law (and subject to paragraph 22 below), the Promoter hereby excludes all warranties, representations, covenants and liabilities (whether express or implied) relating to this Promotion and/or the prize.

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the Promoter's liability for:

The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend or cancel the Promotion should virus, bugs, tampering, fraud or other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter corrupt or hinder the administration, security or proper play of the Promotion.
If any of the provisions of these terms and conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part that part shall be severed from the remainder of the provisions and the validity of the other provisions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that residents of Scotland may also bring proceedings in the Scottish courts.
