Ulster Loyalty Saver

Hi, has anybody tried to close the Ulster loyalty saver account?

I have not been able to access the amount of the accrued interest and have not been able to find an option to close the account.

Now I am doubting if it’s a really true easy access, having concerns about the flexibility of the account.

Thanks

  • It’s an annual interest account, so you will only be paid the interest on (I think) each first working day of January. I’m happy to keep mine open as it suits my needs, and having experienced Ulster’s processes to open it in the first place, if you decide in favour of closure it may well be a long-winded affair.

I gave up, ran mine down to zero balance. Then ignored it.

Can only close in branch (Ulster or NW ) or via mail. Then you'll get your interest unless you wait til Jan.

If you have a current account with them you can fill in an online form and the closing balance gets transferred to that account. Google how to close...for the link to the form.

Thanks, I guess I will keep it as it is the best performer interest wise and hoping it doesn’t go down

I don’t like being blind on the monthly interest generated.

Thanks for the tip of NatWest

Have searched for it before posting but it was not very obvious or clear, will try with a live agent tomorrow. Thanks
