Morning all. It's been another wild and stormy night here which matches the day on Friday. My oldest nephew and family are flying off to Australia today, even though I didn't want to go too I could really do with some sunshine.

Cold and bright here. Thanks for all the ❤️ for my little red campervan……it really is the best thing I ever purchased and B-dog and I have been all over Scotland numerous times, and a huge trip up the west Irish coast. Travels further abroad were curtailed by aging parents and DMs cancer treatment but there’s still so much of the UK to explore where I can get home quickly if needed.I’m not hopeful for the SW Scottish weather over the next 10 days but we always make a great trip and little dog is the best company.Have a great weekend

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
I know what you mean about Australia - the weather has been so awful since we returned, I want to go back there.
Yesterday was dry, sunny but so cold and windy, today is set to be the same.
We went to Ald* yesterday, I thought it would be less crowded than today, and it was ok.
I sorted a few clothes out for the cs, and did a general tidy, it wasn't too bad.
Nothing much planned for today.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.11 -
@Scarlet - if I could be zoomed / beamed across there without all the weary travelling and dreary airports I'd go. 😀
@AA - happy travelling. Take woolly jumpers and long johns.
The day isn't promising much, just like yesterday. I pottered around a bit and found another couple of things for the CS. For ages I've been looking for a large bath sheet but not a fluffy one. Can't bear fluffy towels and prefer the thinner type as they're easier to handle and dry with. My current ones are now ancient and thinning. 😀 After a lot of searching I think I may have found some that I may like so have ordered a couple. Fingers crossed that they are what I want.Perhaps I'll listen to another couple of hours of my latest audiobook this morning. I hope that everyone is doing well.10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. The overnight rain has stopped here and we have snippets of blue sky emerging, but the forecast gusty wind is still with us. Roll on some nice warm sunshine.
Shopping with DS this morning. A double up shop as they are at a wedding next Saturday and the shops will be closed day after - Easter Sunday. Then this afternoon I have youngest DGD coming for tea and sleepover. I think middle one must have had a better offer as she is having a sleepover at a friends house!
SNOOZER we have had to pay for our garden waste bin collection for quite a few years now. Not many round here subscribe but, with no transport of my own, going to the tip with it is not an option for me. DS and DD don't subscribe, they have a better idea - they bring their garden waste to put in my bin!!
Have a nice day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones, sad, lonely and MIA. ALLIE enjoy your tootling around SW Scotland. I hope you are ok NAN, we haven't had an update for a few days now. Take care all and be safe."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning all, it's cold and breezy here in the NW, we had some hail during the night and this morning.Gersw I'm with you on the fluffy towel thingAlwaysAllie, enjoy your camper trip. We have one that was bought as a work van originally, then DH and DS1 decided it was in too good a condition to use as a builders van & DS1 converted it. He's done a fantastic job with it,looks great but it hasn't been 'camped' in- just day trips, and it isn't a pop up either.Hope the weather warms up!DH and I enjoyed our lunch out, took 4 big bags to the hospice shop, then picked DGS up from school. He's been a bit under the weather and seem tired, but had a football match so took himself off to bed for a nap, then was raring to go . Another one this morning, thankfully a later start! No plans after that.@-taff, I've already taken some in but depending on the style (if baggy) they don't look right round the shoulder linethanks for the suggestion thoughNot sure what to make for tea, will decide later.Have a good day all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Shocking weather, so windy and wet although the sun is showing itself every now and again. I have a wash on and may put it out later if the rain gives up.
Love your van Allie, have a good trip.
We have just been told we'll have to pay for garden waste collection - I'm going to try without and see how it goes.
Work was relentless this week, probably why I can't get going today! I have shopping to do and the allotment to visit so had better get a move on.
Hope you are all well and you have a good weekend. Take care. XX

Morning! Sorry to tell you it is sunny here but it is also extrememly windy. I went to the gc yesterday and I was mostly good, got a thyme to replace the one I dug up and two other things for drought tolerant areas, and two large pots. And of course the grit, and the top soil for the tree swapping and some composted bark for the front garden for mulch. I decided nto to wait for OH to help and put them in the wheelbarrow, went to push them away, it was like pushing through setting concrete. Took me about five yards to realise the wheel was flat, so ended up carrying them to the back garden. Mistake, as my palpitations told me repeatedly for a good few hours. I have learned my lesson and will get OH to do it next time. But anyway, a day of mixing stuff up and potting on trees [baby ones] awaits me so looking forward to that. Also cooked some beans for me, I can smell them reducing now, nom nom, and we have a chinese tonight wth friends for her birthday [ number 9 this month, three to go]Rosy, that's a shame, you need to find a seamstress friend my father did the same with his old transit, they went to Italy and back for years in it until they got themselves a posh motorhome. I drove that van after that and it was fabulous, like driving a boat wallowing around, I loved it. I was very sad when it had to be not used any more. Allie, have a great trip! Gers, sorry about the weather, it just gets you down after a bit doesn't it. I know what you mean about towels too. I had four brilliant ones before, now I only have two, thanks to leaving an ex with two of them [and other stuff] because I felt sorry for him [ never ever again]. snoozer, I pay for mine too but I do use it most weeks, for grass or trimmings, stuf I'd have difficulty in collating to take to the tip. Chris, two more weeks ot go? camelot, just relax! Hugs n stuff for the unwell, take care!Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...9

Morning all
Dry and bright here but quite windy - a good drying day OH has his work clothes in the wm so will be hung out after.
AA I love your van it’s something I would love - maybe when we retire
Housework to do this morning and then take the bears out for a good walk they always get long ones at the weekend which they love.We have paid for out garden waste removal for years about 15 I think, it makes sense to us as we live about 8 miles from the tip so a 16 mile round trip and also the time involved in going each time, it’s so easy just to pop it in the bin and have it collected.
Hope Nan is doing ok and still resting xx
I thought the princess of wales was very brave in sharing her cancer diagnosis it’s a tough time for anyone.
Have good days all and take care xx8
