Foolproof bath shower screen seal that doesn't leak suggestions

I've tried two different screen seals and they both leak. The problem is that when the seals are fitted there is a small gap at the base of the door hinge and no matter how I cut away/customize the seals, water leakage is still occurring.

What can I do to stop the leak? Do I really need to apply some sealant or am I missing something obvious?

You can get ones which have a longer flange that goes into the bath, this is the sort of thing...

    .
    Edit:
This is the one we have, simple to clean and no leaks

ECOSPA Rubber & Plastic Bath/Shower Screen Seal Strip for 4-6mm Glass Screens or Doors • Straight or Curved • Seals Gaps up to 29mm • Wing Length 30mm https://amzn.eu/d/6nBW8kz
  • Thank you. I've actually tried an Aqualux from Screwfix and one similar to the ECOSPA one without joy. Our problem is that the curved pivot hinge has a small gap at the bottom that is just very difficult to fill perfectly when cutting the seal (my wife thinks that I am overthinking it as I'm blasting the area with water with a hose during testing which she doesn't think happens during normal usage)

Have you tried using the shower with any of the seals to see if it actually leaks in use, rather than when blasting it with water - which isn't really the same test.

Alternatively if cutting precisely is the issue, then perhaps something like this tape would be suitable?

Silicone Seal Door Strip Bottom - 8M/26ft (W: 35MM) Silicone Sealing Sticker Self Adhesive Weather Stripping for Gaps of House, Glass Shower, Window and Door, Weatherproof Soundproof Insect Proof https://amzn.eu/d/7wSyUHZ

It will be tricky to get on perfectly straight, and you won't (unlike the seals I posted) be able to remove and replace for cleaning though.

We used this tape to reduce draughts on a french door (before replacing it) and it worked pretty well for that.

I know exactly what you mean - it's not a massive leak on mine but I decided to "glue" the glass to the bath by removing the seal and putting clear silicone there and that stopped it leaking!
  • This might sound stupid but we had a similar issue until realised the whole thing had been installed upside down by the fitter

  • I applied a small blob of transparent silicone (PlumbersGold) which seems to have solved it. Will try not to swing the hinged glass screen which shouldn't be a problem.
