I just plastered over it.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I was actually researching the same thing recently and found this:
https://www.bluea.co.uk/how-much-does-it-cost-to-remove-asbestos/
10sqm ceiling costs £1050+VAT
Alternatively you can skim or drywall over it instead.0 -
You can skim it which will be cheaper, but any time you want to drill into it afterwards follow HSE guidance (assuming there is asbestos in the artex - which you can get tested if you want)0
-
Or you could use something like this - https://www.ecosolutions.co.uk/homestrip-xtex/I've got a narrow band of artex to remove from the walls in a bedroom here. Ceiling is already in a dump bag outside. Stripping a full wall could use a lot of stripper and get expensive real quick. I have heard a steam wallpaper stripper can work... Skimming is OK as long as the artex is well adhered to the plaster underneath. If it isn't, you may well find the skim+artex falling off at some point.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I used a steam stripper and that worked fine and suppressed any dust.0

You can get it tested for asbestos and they'll give you a certificate with the results. Might change the costs of removing it.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline.
