DIY shop wall tiles vs tile specialist wall tiles

Hi, 

We are getting our kitchen done and need to buy some new wall tiles. We have selected white metro matt tiles (flat not bevelled).  We need to buy 6m2 and are on a budget. 

So, my question is, should we save 50% by buying the tiles from a shop like B&Q or should we pay around £40 per m2 and buy them from a tile specialist?  How is the quality? We are looking for them to last around 5 years.

I have B&Q and they are very good and a lot cheaper. 6m2 you may also find clearance batches, just check lot numbers.

Not worth getting expensive ones for 5 years.

I've used B&Q tiles many times in bathrooms and kitchens with no issues, quality seems good

No tile is going to fail in 5 years, even 10 or 15. Unless you wire brush them daily.

Tiles last practically forever. Archeologists dig up flooring in Pompeii that’s in pretty good nick after 2000 years.

DIY store tiles well installed are likely to last a lot longer than 5 years
