Insurance write off

OP, last time I had a car written off ,it was collected by the insurers at the time of the accident. The car was a write off in anyone's book though.
If you want to keep the car minus the scrappage value and repair it yourself (for less than they think it will cost), then you can, just let the insurers know that's what you want to do. I would have thought they'd have to assess the car before writing it off though.0 -
If you are thinking of doing what Bigpil suggests, don't let the car out of your sight. Getting it back will be a lot of hassle and probably expensive.0

If you let them take it to Copart for "assessment" you won't see it again....
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
