IHT400: Aegon General Investment Account - where to put it?

Good evening,
I rang HMRC this morning to ask where to put the GIA from my late mother's Aegon holding. I was told to put the value in IHT406 Box 2 along with bank and building society accounts, which is something I believe I have also read on this forum.
When I was double checking IHT411 - shares, ISA's etc, I became convinced that the GIA belonged on here. It feels strange to contradict information that I was given by an agent of HMRC - is it possible that he assumed the holding was just cash and not actually being invested? I did say it was invested. I think this is a very important thing for me to clear up. Could it have an impact on capital gains, for example, or will that come late on as separate to IHT?
I am a bit too impatient to wait until morning and was hoping someone here might be able to assist.
Thank you in advance.

Thanks, James. I appreciate it. Makes sense to put it in 411 and that's what I'll do.JamesRobinson48 said:Yes IMHO holdings in shares, unit trusts, etc. belong in IHT411, including those held on a platform whether it be ISA and/or GIA.0
