Apologies if this is slightly pedantic, but a sole trader is not a company.  There is no ‘company’ name as such, just a business name.  I wonder if you described it as a company to the mortgage advisor, perhaps that’s why they put it down as a Ltd.

You work for an individual, not a company...

Using a company name that doesn't exist is going to raise red flags, but I am a little surprised that your broker didn't pick that up as it is a pretty basic check to make sure the company you are claiming to be employed by actually exists...

I'd be inclined to talk to the broker who sent the incorrect information to Santander about correcting the error...

Always check any form which has been completed on your behalf that the information is correct before signing and agreeing to the declaration.  Were there any other material mistakes? 

 As far as the lender was concerned you purported to work for an employer that didn't exist.  Suggest you speak to your broker and express your displeasure.
