I am getting these weird and assuming spam texts. I have had 2 from a firm called Harley legal who when I spoke to them said enforcement officers were coming round to collect goods if i didnt sign up to a debt management payment plan with a compnay (they happened to be able to transfer me to a firm who has no links with any charity that does this??) the debt they were talking about, I have a plan in place and couldn't understand why they had instructed this company and so I said I'd call them back and then contacted the loan company who assured me they hadn't done anything of the sort. Their solicitors said the same as well as my credit report which shows NO ccj or adverse records. I have now received 2 more texts from a company called arrow global saying that they are going to execute a  court distress liability order and will remove goods from my home by 5pm Friday.  I have had no documents from any court, any debt owing are all under payment plans and I am in contact with step change and have breathing space too. has anyone else had this and can anyone confirm that this is spam and scaring tactics as my stress levels have gone through the roof and I haven't had anything else from them and they haven't even stated who the debt is relating to and have also posted 2 separate reference numbers. any advice is greatly received

Unless it comes written in a letter, through the post, ignore it, its either spam, or a con.

Although Arrow Global are a debt purchasing company, there is no such thing as a "court distress liability order".

Bailiffs cannot act without a company first taking legal action, and obtaining a CCJ, you then have to default on payments before a bailiff can be engaged, and even then they must give 7 days notice of attendance in writing.

Signing up to a DMP to avoid bailiffs is keystone cops territory.

An extremely poor effort at spamming you from some undesirable, ignore it, and don`t worry.

And, you may well know this, but it's important enough to state: do not click any links in texts like this. Do not click links in any texts.

It's a scam, similar (but not as convincing) as the Marstons one we were seeing a few weeks ago.

Please if you get a text saying you have a debt that you know nothing about, delete it
  • thank you all so much. although I am.holding my breath until.after 5pm tomorrow. They've absolutely terrified me even though I have checked my file etc and there isn't anything on there relating to a ccj.

Useful info here about spam texts - including how to report them. https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/problems/tackling-nuisance-calls-and-messages/spam-texts#:~:text=To%20report%20a%20spam%20text,handy%20way%20of%20remembering%20it.

OP - report the texts you have, and block those numbers. If more appear, rinse and repeat!
